We were lucky to have the beautiful Ketaki as part of our launch shoot in Mumbai. Ketaki is an artist based in Pune and also works with various NGOs where she teaches and uplifts underprivileged women and children through art. This directly ties into our support of the UN Sustainable Development Goals 5 and 8, which focus on gender equality and sustainable economic growth.

Tell us about yourself, what are your interests and things that make you happy?

I am an artist. Painting and drawing really make me happy. I am a mom so spending time with my son is one of my favourites too.

How did you get into the industry you work in?

I have worked in three different industries so far. I started out by studying commercial art but then opened a restaurant along with my husband. Working in hospitality and painting at the same time for around 25 years was very satisfying. Now I’m modelling and loving it!

Where do you find inspiration?

In all life itself. I celebrate each day as a gift and being open to ideas is always a great source of inspiration. My art is heavily influenced by nature and the feminine something I feel Reistor really aligns with. I believe restoring the feminine qualities of nurturing and kindness are really the need of the hour.

What does sustainability mean to you and how do you bring it into your life?

Sustainability has become a way of life now. The lockdown also helped put a lot of things in perspective. I am already recycling my water in an STP, making compost of the wet waste and now also started growing my own vegetables. Apart from all this I think using plastic is almost a no no unless it’s recyclable and can go the right place for it.

What does Reistor represent to you?

I think it’s a great way to walk your talk. Garments made from hemp are saying so much about the way you can live, wearing these super comfortable clothing feels so good too. I really want to see Reistor make a huge impact on fashion and inculcate the idea of slow fashion to our generation. The younger ones are already quite clued in to sustainability.

One last thing…

Favourite thing about yourself?

I’m friendly.

Three words to describe yourself

Patient, kind, stubborn.
