OUR FABRIC AND YARNS
HEMP
Our decision to use hemp for our debut collection in 2021 (and ever since) stems from our ethos to always make sustainable choices. Hemp requires up to 90% less water to grow and is the most comfortable natural biodegradable fiber.
Along with being eco-friendly, hemp is also inherently antimicrobial and easy on the skin. Given the durability of its fibers, a hemp garment has a longer lifespan than other fabrics, thereby minimizing long-term wastage.
LINEN
Having carved a space for itself in fashion for centuries, linen is only getting started! It is a super lightweight and biodegradable fabric which is also timeless and super chic.
We’ve chosen to use linen made from the flax plant which takes about 100 days to grow and needs fertilizers, pesticides, and almost no water! Compared to a simple cotton tee which requires up to 2,700L of water, a linen shirt needs a negligible amount!
TENCEL
Our Denim dresses are made entirely from TENCELTM - a brand of lyocell and modal fibers derived from sustainable wood sources. It recovers and recycles more than 99% of the solvents used in the process and consumes way less water & energy. This collection is way more comfortable and eco-friendly, and perfect for summer and beyond!
BEMBERG
Bemberg is sustainable regenerated cellulose fiber made from cotton linter which is the short, downy fiber that enfolds the cotton seed. All the impurities are removed from this tiny material, transforming it into a thread.
The resulting fabric is incredibly soft, lightweight, breathable and versatile. We've chosen this silky yarn for our outfits as it's perfect for layering and for warmer weather.
ORGANIC COTTON
Imagine having all the lightness and breathability of regular cotton but without the environmental cost. That’s organic cotton for you! Organic cotton is grown without the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers ensuring it supports the local environment and communities.
This fabric uses 62% less energy to grow and releases up to 46% less CO2 than regular cotton. Regular cotton is often treated with harsh chemicals during processing which can irritate your skin, making organic cotton the safer and more sustainable choice.
