At Reistor, we always believe that we can do better, and that's what we strive towards. For us, sustainability goes beyond fabrication and includes working conditions, building communities, and preserving traditions. Over the last few months, we’ve taken some exciting steps in that direction, ones that make us feel both grateful and energized.
One is the installation of our brand-new solar power plant at our facility, and the other is our ongoing collaboration with Srujna, an amazing NGO that helps women from underserved communities find opportunities to work, learn, and grow. Together, these steps feel like meaningful ways to create the kind of future we’d all love to be part of.
So, let’s dive in: what’s new, why it matters, and how these changes touch not just the planet but people too.
Harnessing the Power of the Sun
There’s something magical about sunlight turning into energy. With our new solar power plant, that magic is now part of our everyday operations. Instead of relying on conventional electricity, a significant portion of the energy we use now comes directly from the sun.
To put it in perspective: our solar plant has already generated 47.232 MWh of clean energy, which translates to an annual reduction of approximately 70 tons of CO₂. So far, we’ve achieved 47 tons of CO₂ reduction, a tangible way of knowing that fashion can coexist with care for our planet.
Watching those solar panels work feels like a quiet reminder that nature gives us what we need; we just have to tap into it thoughtfully.
Comfort in Knowing Where Your Clothes Come From
When you put on a Reistor outfit, we hope you feel more than just physical comfort. There’s a different kind of ease that comes from knowing the energy used to create your clothes comes from the sun. It adds a new layer of meaning to sustainable clothing.
It’s not just about the fabrics we choose, like hemp clothing, 100% organic cotton, and linen, or how each woman’s dress or summer top is stitched. It’s also about the kind of energy that fuels the process. For us, sustainability is about being mindful of every step: sourcing materials, employing ethical practices, and completing a finished product you can feel proud of wearing.
Uplifting Communities Through Collaboration
While the solar plant is a big leap for the planet, the heart of Reistor has always been people. One of the things we’re proudest of is our partnership with Srujna, an NGO dedicated to empowering women in underserved communities.
Through this collaboration, women gain access to real work opportunities, learning valuable skills and earning a steady income. These opportunities help them build confidence, independence, and practical experience that strengthen their families and communities.
It’s more than employment; it’s about independence, self-worth, and empowerment that ripples outward. Every ethical clothing piece we produce carries that story.
What This Means For Us, And For You
For us at Reistor, steps like switching to solar energy and supporting women through Srujna are part of a bigger picture. We aim to make sustainable clothing for women to feel lighter, not just on your skin, but on the planet and on the people who make it possible.
For you, it means that every summer dress, crop top, or romper you choose from Reistor is part of a journey. You’re not just buying clothes, you’re supporting clean energy, fair opportunities, and community upliftment. And that makes each outfit feel even better to wear.
Small Steps, Big Difference
We’re not claiming perfection; no brand is completely sustainable. However, every step we take is intentional and thoughtful. Switching to solar energy is one step. Supporting women through NGOs is another. And together, they make the road ahead brighter; for us, for you, and for the communities we’re lucky to be part of.
Because at the end of the day, sustainability isn’t just about the planet, it’s about people too. And that combination is what makes fashion truly meaningful.
A Future Powered by the Sun and Strengthened by People
When we look ahead, the picture we want is clear: clothes powered by clean solar energy, created by empowered hands, and designed to make you feel effortlessly stylish. From floral dresses to casual dresses, hemp jumpsuits, organic cotton tops, and more. Each piece reflects our commitment to the planet and our community.
